WorldCast Systems Launch New Solar-Powered FM Broadcast Transmitter

  6 sept. 2017

Bordeaux-Mérignac, 6th September 2017 -  WorldCast Systems will be exhibiting the new, award-winning, solar-powered FM transmitter/ retransmitter at IBC 2017 in Amsterdam. Offering hybrid AC power, the SOLAR FM can broadcast for up to 10 hours over 10km on solar power alone and for even longer using its hybrid power source.

The turnkey system was officially launched at NAB earlier in the year where it was selected for a coveted “Best of Show” Award.

Designed for areas with limited electrical infrastructure or for temporary installations, the SOLAR FM can receive audio from a number of different sources such as its inbuilt satellite and FM receivers or analog and AES inputs and broadcast to remote communities, festivals and events and disaster relief areas.

A dedicated smartphone app provides full configuration capabilities and also enables daily scheduling of operations to make best use of solar power when available and rely on the AC connection, when not.

Designed to be versatile, easy to mount, and highly resilient when operating in difficult environments, the SOLAR FM is supplied as a turnkey system with solar panel, FM antennas, satellite dish or antenna and the robust FM transmitter. A NiMH battery and built-in smart battery management system help optimize the amount of time a broadcaster can stay on air.

The Solar FM will be showcased on the WorldCast Systems’ stand 8.C58 in Hall 8, RAI, Amsterdam from the 15th – 18th September 2017.
