WorldCast Systems Showcase SOLAR FM at SMPTE 2017

  Jul 5, 2017

The new turnkey solar-powered broadcast transmitter from WorldCast Systems, the SOLAR FM, will be proudly displayed on the booth of Australian dealer, OnAir Solutions during the Sydney-based broadcast expo, SMPTE 17.

Visitors to OnAir Solutions at Booth C04, will be able to see the revolutionary new system which just won a “Best of Show” Award at the recent NAB 2017 show in Las Vegas. OnAir Solutions are the exclusive representative for WorldCast’s Ecreso FM Transmitter range and Audemat Telemetry and test equipment in Australia and also operate a dedicated transmitter repair and maintenance center for the region.

The hybrid-powered SOLAR FM is both an FM transmitter and retransmitter that can broadcast for up to 10 hours over 10km on solar power alone.

Designed for areas with limited electrical infrastructure or for temporary installations, the SOLAR FM retransmitter can receive audio from a number of different sources such as its inbuilt satellite and FM receivers or analog and AES inputs. A dedicated smartphone app provides full configuration capabilities and also enables daily scheduling of operations to make best use of solar power when available and rely on the AC connection, when not.

Designed to be versatile, easy to mount, and highly resilient when operating in difficult environments, the SOLAR FM is supplied as a turnkey system with solar panel, FM antennas, satellite dish or antenna and the robust FM transmitter. A NiMH battery and built-in smart battery management system help optimize the amount of time a broadcaster can stay on air.

The Solar FM will be on display on the booth of OnAir Solutions  C04 from the 18th-21st July 2017.
