Germany's ARD Approves Ecreso FM 10kW Transmitter

  Sep 28, 2017

WorldCast Systems is pleased to announce that the Ecreso FM 5kW/10kW Transmitter has been recently approved by the ARD in Germany for use within the networks of German public broadcasters.

The ARD or “Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland” is the association of public broadcasting corporations within Germany and its engineering teams set the specifications with which any manufacturer wishing to sell to any ARD broadcaster needs to comply.

The compact range of Ecreso FM Transmitters which spans power levels from 100W up to 2,000W and the company’s N+ 1 system had previously already met the necessary specifications defined by the organization.

Gregory Mercier, Product Manager for Ecreso explained, “The ARD specifications are universally acknowledged to be one of the most stringent, if not the most stringent in the industry. The fact that this organization has approved the Ecreso range from low power through to 10kW is a ringing endorsement of the design, reliability and robustness of our transmitters.”

The Ecreso FM 5kW/10kW Transmitter is based on an innovative new design that provides 1+1 levels of reliability. The Power amplifiers, power supplies and even the fan modules are fully hot swappable and redundant and a completely passive 6-way coupler ensures that, should one of the amplifiers suffer a fault, the transmitter can stay on-air with minimum power loss indefinitely until the fault is rectified. For peace of mind, the system can be supplied with a warranty of up to 10 years.
